No transition.
No blending.

CHAPTER ONE
Separation Precedes Function
In the beginning, the earth did not produce form. There was no distinction. Nothing was separated. Nothing was named.
Order was not visible.
Then separation began.
Light was distinguished from darkness. Not negotiated. Not blended. One limited from the other.
Light did not invade the night. Night did not erase the day. Both were given boundary.
What had no contour received border. What was continuous was divided.
Separation was not decorative. It was structural.
What was indistinct was organized into levels. Above and below. Waters divided. Expanse defined.
Nothing remained diffuse.
What was scattered was gathered. What was mass was restrained. Dry ground appeared.
Land. Sea. Named. Distinguished.
The earth began to produce according to kind. Internal limit. Continuity preserved.
The seed did not exceed its nature. The tree did not become something else.
Markers were placed. Greater light. Lesser light. To govern cycles. Time received measure.
The waters moved with life. Classified. According to kind.
The land produced living creatures. Classification repeated. Boundary reaffirmed.
Then a different declaration appears. Rule.
The human is formed. Receives image. Receives mandate.
The environment was already structured when he appeared. Dominion was not over chaos. It was over established order.
Territory was defined. Responsibility was assigned.
Nothing is broken yet. Nothing has collapsed.
But the pattern is exposed.
Separation precedes function. Limit precedes life. Order precedes authority.
If everything was created with boundary, if each element remains within its designation, if order precedes life — what happens when the one given dominion chooses to move beyond the structure that sustains him?
