Deviations are corrected.
Balance is repeatedly restored.

An organism preserves identity while its parts change.

Maintenance is not optional.
It is constant.

But human life adds something decisive:

Consciousness.

You do not merely exist.
You perceive that you exist.

And perception introduces responsibility.

Living is not merely maintaining function.
It is maintaining direction.

When regulation fails, the system enters disorder.

Life requires continuous adjustment.
